Much appreciation to Percy for making her way home with her kid to witness the event which did not eventuate as anticipated. Thanks to all of you, who could not make it but were with us through spirit. Even though, PM did not visit on the 07th May, 2012 those of us who were there contributed much on behalf of you for the ‘Team up game’ in 2012 General Election. Our Unity was demonstrated to our people back at home and they were more than happy to have our elites taking the lead for the betterment of Kuare.
Friday –Saturday (04-05th May)
To make the event organised more Professionally, we dipped into our own pockets to purchase Red Carpets, Flowers and Banner print, which costed us about K3,000.
Banner Print costed much for few words. The words read;
Welcome Prime Minister
Hon. Peter O’Neil to Kaure LLG, your Home Base
“Thank you for being the first PM to set foot in Kuare LLG, 17 Council Ward “.
“We are at the Back of you in this 2012 General Election”
Sunday (06th May)
We all gathered in Kuwi, and made presentation to all the invited councillors, President, Church Leaders and Village Leaders. Many people were present and on behalf of the Elites of Kuare, we made a speech and briefed our people back at home on our intentions of choosing good leaders in this 2012 election. We also educated our people back at home on our Unity that will one day change the shape of Kaure. They were really proud to see all Elites of Kuare taking the lead and heading in one direction.
On behalf of all elites of Kuare, a contribution of K5,000 was made and presented to the Council President for Peter O’Neil’s nomination fee for this coming election.
Since the PM’s visit was deferred to Thursday, 10th May we gave the mandate to Samson Were to speak on our behalf. Our people were really proud and gave positive feedback. All 17 Council wards in Kaure have agreed to be in one boat in this 2012 Election.
Letter of Request to PM
Our request was on better Health Services, Better Road system and Education. However, we only focussed on Better Road system as it will pave a way for other tangible developments. (See letter attached presented to PM)
Once again, thanks to those of you, who were not present but with us through spirit. Let’s give the fire burning and always cooperate in any steps we may take forward in developing Remote Kaure. Please, let us all operate and work as team to influence our people back at home to cooperate during this 2012 election.
Cheers!!
