About 12 students from recently established Kuare High School have met the requirements and will continue their secondary education at Pangia Secondary School in 2017. About 64 students sat for the Grade 10 National exams this year but only 12 students were eligible to do Grade 11. This is according to the national selectors in Port Moresby. This number may increase when more students are selected during provincial selections this month. The Grade 11 National selections are underway in Port Moresby.
Kagua Secondary will no longer take in students from Kuare High School as there is limited space for Grade 11. This is because, Sugu Valley, Erave and Gobe Technical High schools are now feeder schools to Kagua Secondary and thus Kagua Secondary will take in more students from these schools.
Kuare High School becomes the only feeder school to Pangia Secondary. This means students who are passing out of Kuare High School will continue their secondary education at Pangia Secondary School.
Meanwhile, local MP and Prime Minister Peter O'Neill together with his dignitories attended the pioneer students graduation on Thursday. The Prime Minister announced funding for road link between Tindua and Kuare and committed K400,000' while Member for Kagua - Erave James Lagea pledged K100,000 to Kuare High School and another K100,000 to Kaporoi ward.
