Proposed and existing Koare Road
Image submited by Percy Rame
This is a partial map of Ialibu/ Pangia District. It shows the proposed and existing Koare Roads. If you look at it carefully on this map, Koare is connected by only one road which runs from Ialibu through Kagua then to Koare. Though this roads plays a significant roles in the lives of many Koares, lack of maintenances on its deteriorating road conditions have caused struggles and hardships to travel on the road.
Geographically we are located near Ialibu and Pangia. There is a proposed road for Koare to connect Hagen and Mendi through Ialibu then to Tiandua and then to Kuare. In contrast of distances to access Mendi and Hagen (service centres), the Koare – Kagua - Ialibu road is approaximately 100 – 110kms. Whilst, the proposed Koare – Tindua road connecting to Ialibu is approximately 45 - 55kms, and is the shortest route. This road will be the lifeline of entire Koare.
We pray that one day that dream to have a road connect from Koare to Tindua will come through.
